Theresa Barratt wrote a smart letter to the editor responding to Gerry Connolly’s distortions regarding Keith’s social security plan. Read below:
Keith Fimian “turns his back on seniors”? So says Congressman Gerry Connolly’s press release, but that’s not so.
Keith Fimian wants to protect the benefits due our seniors and keep Social Security solvent. When elected, he will try to save it by putting a stop to Congress raiding the Social Security trust fund to finance out-of-control spending and insure that the Congress keeps its contract with Americans.
Keith believes we need a commission, similar to the one in the 1980s, of elected officials, experts and stakeholders to have a seat at the table and a voice in the reform. Not a Republican solution, not a Democrat solution and definitely not a career politician solution. Please don’t be fooled by baseless charges. Keith Fimian has a strong commitment to serve everyone and a businessman’s background to know how best to spend our tax dollars.
Gerry Connolly is double speaking so fast he's setting a new standard for a career politician debating himself in a single interview. He went on Bruce DePuyt’s show and debated himself on the Bush tax cuts. Congressman Connolly told viewers that he was against the Bush tax cuts, before he was for them.

Congress has voted against the will of the people by passing Obamacare and the failed stimulus. They looked the other way as out of control spending contributed to trillions in new debt. The current leadership in Congress needs to be replaced.
As your next congressman, please share your thoughts on ways to improve Congress with Keith. We will share the best suggestions later this week on Facebook, Twitter, and our blog.

The national Democratic establishment is taking notice of Keith's momentum. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) plans to spend $1.1 million on negative advertising against his campaign. With Congressman Gerry Connolly telling a crowd of voters this past weekend that he was, "proud of have [sic] been part of President Obama’s agenda," he will need all the help he can get!

Connolly continued, “[President Obama] needs partners—I want to be one of those partners.”
Gerry Connolly sold out northern Virginia to be a part of President Obama’s nationalized health care boondoggle, his failed stimulus, and trillions in new debt. It’s time for northern Virginia to elect a representative and not another “Yes” man for President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. In response to news that that home sales have fallen to their lowest level in 15 years, Tim Edson, Campaign Manager for Keith Fimian released this statement:
"Congressman Connolly has been telling us how wonderful his economic policies are and how his trillions in reckless spending is the cure to all our economic woes, from the job market to the housing market," Edson said. "Today's news that existing home sales fell 27.2 percent in July is a painful sign that Gerry Connolly has been pedaling empty rhetoric and his policies are making matters worse, not better."
"Desperate to win re-election, Congressman Connolly will tell voters anything he believes will better his chances. His happy talk and blame others campaign are a career politician's response, not a solution," Edson said. "But this isn't a political game. People are hurting and Congressman Connolly is badly out-of-touch. Homeowners in the 11th District have already seen their home values tumble and the prospect of even greater decline is very real if we don't put a stop to the failed, job destroying economic policies of Gerry Connolly."
"During his time on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Connolly soaked homeowners in property taxes to feed his reckless spending," Edson said. "In Congress, his economic policies have worsened the economy and created the grim conditions necessary for another dramatic decline in home values."

Keith Fimian made the following statement today in response to Congressman Gerry Connolly’s recent statement to Politico that “you try to highlight that which you know will put your best foot forward” in reference to his efforts to hide his unwavering support for Speaker Pelosi's agenda:
“Congressman Connolly has rubber stamped Speaker Pelosi’s failed agenda of bigger government, trillions in new spending, and hundreds of billions in job destroying taxes 97 percent of the time,” Fimian said. “As could have been predicted from a career politician like Gerry Connolly, he is running from his record and desperately reinventing himself as something he is not weeks before an election in hopes of fooling voters into sending him back to Congress.”
“Despite his campaign trail rhetoric, Congressman Connolly has been unwavering in his support for Speaker Pelosi and the failed, reckless agenda of this Congress,” Fimian said. “From the failed $862 billion stimulus to the trillion dollar government healthcare takeover to his vote for job destroying cap-and-trade, Connolly has voted with Democrat party bosses and against his constituents time after time.
“I really don’t know what 11th District voters should find more troubling: the fact that Gerry Connolly has taken so many votes against their interests, or the fact that he arrogantly brags to the press about his efforts to hide from his record and deceive his own constituents into sending him back to Congress,” Fimian said.

Election Day is only 70 days from today! If you are a college student, the parent of a college student who will be away at school, or need an absentee ballot for any other reason, you can go ahead and request an absentee ballot now.
