Fimian Statement on Centreville Day-Laborer Site

Jun 03, 2010

Regarding the proposed day-laborer site in Centreville, Fimian said, “With plans for a day-labor center moving forward, I join with Centreville residents and business owners in opposition.  As well intentioned as proponents of this project may be, it sends entirely to the wrong message to people who have, in many cases, broken our laws to be here and invites a host of problems including increased potential for crime in the area.”

"If the federal government would just do its job, states, localities and well intentioned citizens would not be left with the responsibility of figuring out what to do with illegal immigrants.  The rule of law is a fundamental underpinning of our way of life and our system of government. Unfortunately most of the career politicians in Washington love to write new laws, but lack the resolve or good judgment, or both, to enforce existing ones.”

“There are a lot of commonsense steps we can take to address this problem, including securing our borders by whatever means necessary and having police check the immigration status of anyone arrested for committing a crime. Above all, we must make sure career politicians like Gerry Connolly, who are eager for millions of new voters, are not successful in their efforts to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants whose very first action was breaking the law to enter our nation.”

Gone to Raise Taxes

Jun 02, 2010

Which is worse . . . skipping work or raising taxes?

Pat Herrity wants us to trust him with our vote, but his own record as County Supervisor shows we can't even be sure he'll show up for work. Supervisor Herrity has a track record of failing to attend meetings and missing votes on issues that he says are important.

Official government records show that Pat Herrity failed to vote over 103 times as Fairfax Supervisor.  Supervisor Herrity even skipped out on 40% of meetings on the Virginia Transportation Commission; even though he says transportation is a priority.  But Herrity did show up to raise over 25 taxes and fees!

Final Week

Jun 01, 2010

Our campaign to defeat Gerry Connolly and bring a conservative, business-tested approach to Congress is entering the crucial final week of the Republican primary.  We’re prepared to win on June 8th, but Keith needs your help to make sure we turn out every voter.   We have set a goal of getting 50 contributions today to help our final week efforts.  Please donate now.

Congress's big government, big spending agenda has created uncertainty for small business owners and entrepreneurs.  Keith is an experienced businessman who has created hundreds of jobs, He support freezing government spending and lowering taxes to encourage job growth.  Northern Virginians desperately need less political opportunism and more common sense in Washington.

Memorial Day

May 31, 2010

Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day.  It dates to the late 1860s when the day was set aside to honor those killed in the Civil War.  Not until the 1970s did it become an official federal holiday.  Today, we remember all those who have died in military service defending our freedom.

As I write today, thousands of brave Americans are putting themselves in harm’s way in Iraq and Afghanistan in defense of freedom and our way of life.  4,387 Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and 1,075 in Afghanistan.  We must never forget these heroes, the thousands more who have been wounded in defense of our nation, and the families of our servicemen and women.

Fimian Surging in Polls, Enjoys Dramatic Cash Advantage

May 28, 2010

Surging to a 36%-23% lead in the polls ahead of the June 8 Republican Primary, Keith raised over $100,000 in the last seven weeks and reports over $400,000 on-hand in the latest Federal Election Commission financial disclosure.

“I am again honored to have so many tremendous people supporting my campaign,” Fimian said.  “Voters continue to invest in my campaign because they know I will bring a fresh perspective and skill set to Congress the career politicians simply lack.  As an entrepreneur, small businessman and practicing CPA for 7 years, my supporters know I have the skills to balance budgets, create jobs and clean up the mess career politicians have created in Washington.”

“It is becoming increasingly clear that the momentum, poll numbers, resources, and grassroots support are solidly behind my campaign,” Fimian said.  “Unfortunately, instead of giving voters a positive reason to vote for him, Herrity has chosen to attack my character by repeating Democrat Gerry Connolly’s discredited lies in a desperate effort to deflect attention from his record of raising taxes and failing to attend 40% of the meetings of the Virginia Transportation Commission.”

Connolly’s Economic Policies Have Failed

May 27, 2010

Private Pay Shrinks to Lowest Level in History, National Debt Surpasses $13 Trillion

Gerry Connolly’s economic policies consist of mountains of new taxes, unprecedented borrowing, unsustainable reckless spending, government takeovers, stifling regulations, and every other policy Nancy Pelosi and Democrat leaders demand.  The result, according to the USA Today, is that Americans have received the smallest share of personal income in U.S. history from private businesses.  At the same time, government provided benefits, like food stamps and unemployment insurance, have risen to their highest level ever.

The economic policies of Connolly, Pelosi and Democrats in Congress are destroying jobs, impoverishing families, and robbing future generations of economic opportunity and the chance to live the American Dream.

Rubber Stamp

May 26, 2010

Pat Herrity likes to talk about being anti-tax.  But his record tells a different story. He’s put his stamp of approval on tax after tax that hits homeowners and businesses hard.  These are critical facts, and this is a defining difference in this race.

Let's look at the facts: On April 28, 2008, Supervisor Herrity voted for Democrat Gerry Connnolly's new 11-cent property tax on businesses. The County then turned around and hired 19 new staff to help direct the spending of that money. Herrity raised taxes while the economy was tanking which forced businesses to let people go.

May 24, 2010

Bearing Drift, one of Virginia’s biggest conservative blogs, just endorsed Keith!

Bearing Drift wrote “Fimian’s personal embodiment of the American dream gives him a certain experience that is rare in a public servant these days – he is truly someone who has walked the walk while talking the talk. He is someone who can help the people of this country realize their own dreams through advocating for conservative principles at the federal level.”
