Fairfax, VA –Keith Fimian, Republican candidate for Congress (VA-11) outraised Congressman Gerry Connolly by $70,000 dollars over the final three months of 2009. Among individual donors (non-PAC donors), Fimian outraised Connolly by more than $130,000 dollars.
“I am honored to have the support of so many enthusiastic contributors from around Northern Virginia and all over the country,” Fimian said. “They are investing in my campaign because, unlike Gerry Connolly, they know I will stand by my principles when I get to Washington instead of playing political games and selling out the interests’ of my constituents to climb the political ladder. They also trust that I will use my experience as an entrepreneur and small businessman to enact business friendly policies in Congress to revitalize our economy and create jobs.”
“Comparing our reports tells you all you need to know. My contributions are almost exclusively from everyday people concerned that our country is on the wrong course. On the other hand, Gerry Connolly has accepted more than $108,000 dollars from special interests in just the last three months of 2009, bringing his total for 2009 to more than $478,000 in special interest contributions. It is hard to believe that Gerry Connolly has the best interests of 11th District voters in mind when the overwhelming majority of his contributions come from lobbyists and special interests. The people of the 11th District and Northern Virginia deserve better,” Fimian added.
Republican Keith Fimian is running for Congress against Democrat Gerry Connolly in Virginia’s 11th District. Fimian’s platform includes creating jobs, holding the line on taxes and putting the brakes on out-of-control deficit spending in Congress.
